Club Members

The Mission Hills Tennis and Swim Club has enjoyed a rich history dating back to the 70's.  In many ways the club members feel like they are like extended family members to each other.    The 215+ member families represent a diverse group of caring and compassionate individuals.   On any given day you can walk into the lobby and learn about a birthday, anniversary or special event that a member is celebrating.  Ad hoc pot lucks are organized by fitness classes and there are the die hard regulars as well as the occasional exerciser.

The friendly and competent front desk staff, maintenance staff and tennis professionals enhance the family feel.  For decades this has been a place which is very much like the TV show "Cheers", where everyone knows your name.

Some members enjoy tennis while others enjoy swimming, exercising with equipment or taking a fitness class.

The club members are charitable members of the community.  For 11 years in a row, a major fundraiser was thrown by the Betsy Gravett Cancer Foundation which supported local victims of cancer.  This event was managed by club members and hosted on-site.  It has raised literally hundreds of thousands of dollars for to aid local cancer patients.

The club has also provided facilities for many USTA adult tennis teams, providing competitive, social and exercise opportunities for adults for decades.   In 2011, there are 20 different adult teams representing many levels of men, women, seniors and super seniors.  Each team has on average around 15-20 members.   Visiting teams often comment about the remarkable beauty of the surroundings and wildlife.

Club members have come together here and life-long friendships have been formed.  There is overwhelming support by the local and extended community for a recreational facility to remain on this property along with the open space.

A google group has been formed just for club members to inform each other about where they will be exercising and to stay connected while the club is closed.  We don't want to lose touch with each other!  If you are not already on this group please email info@savekimberpark.com and request to be added to the google group.

Please go to the Want to Help tab to find out specifically what you can do to help the Save Kimber Park effort and get involved.
